I mean it was based on DOOM 3. If the game the movie's based on isn't great to begin with, the movie won't be either.

I've seen both and I enjoyed them both, though I enjoyed DOOM as a B-movie and Rampage as a big 80s-esque action movie.

Can I enjoy Rampage as a cheesy kaiju movie?

That's pretty much what it is, just with quite a bit of humor.

I'm a kaiju fan, so this is good news for me, especially since I still have to wait another year for the next godzilla

How dare you Dwayne? Doom is one of my favourite movies.

Doom wasn't great, but also wasn't the worst video game movie by far. If they didn't do that final sequence were it was like he was playing the game it probably would have been even better. Until then the movie was actually a pretty standard sci-fi/horror movie, then they forced that in and took it straight to campy video game status.

Silent Hill was a great video game movie. I'm surprised I don't see many people mentioning it when talking about said movies.

One of the best videogame movies in terms of accuracy to the game was the Dead Or Alive movie.
