His mom must have been on painkillers. Because at this point (and many others during the comic strip) I would have sent him to his room . Then I would have called in a sub-contractor and wall boarded over the room and painted it like the hallway.

This was the greatest comic strip of all time!

So many parents claim they want their children to be strong and independent when they grow up, but when their children try to make their own personal decisions they're slapped down. Years later, after being trained into complacency, the same parents are angry at their childrens inability to make their own choices.
