The hearts from the sharks is actually the blood from the dude, just happened to be shaped like hearts.

I feel like I should mention that sharks often mistake us for seals, and they don't like our bony and muscle-y structure and much prefer blubber, so spitting us out instead of furnishings us is the norm.
