you could create jobs by hiring dishwashers and using metal/reusable cutlery. that is a cost though

well, if you really care about the enviorement.. you should do it 100%.. not just remove the straws and say "look, we do something.." to feel like you did something good while you do a lot of other "bad" stuff at the same time - that's not really a help. that's like removing a burning candle out of a room and say "now the flame of the candle can't harm anything anymore" while the whole room is already on fire because you did set it on fire by yourself with like 100 other candles who are too burning in the room.. removing a single candle don't help in such a situation. you should put out the fire completly and remove all candles completly if you want to really help.
what are you on about im on ur side dude lmfao. i just said they could get metal cutlery and they could hire dishwashers

Yup, i know. But you too said that this will cost money (=most companys etc. Will not do it if it costs money). So my answer was that they should use the money to do good instead of not doing it^^
The spoon serves a necessary purpose that the straw does not. Are you expecting customers to use their hands? The reason this straw campaign is so wide spread is because it's so easy for everyone to get on. Mocking them is like like mocking someone who recycles paper but not every single material possible.

You could use a metal spoon. Or a spoon made out of a material which will decay faster than plastic. Etc etc etc. Your example is not really suit imho. It's more like someone haves 1000 candles burning in his room. Then he puts a single one out and say "look i did something" instead of putting out every candle in his room. It's not about recycle everything.. But if you still use plastic spoons etc.. It's not really changing much. Spoons even get used more often.. So the removing of straws don't rly help much. They should replace the spoons etc..they get used more often and are made out of more plastic. Straws are really thin and are made out of not much plastic.. But Spoons etc are thick and made out of a lot of more plastic. So if you would want to do good.. You should replace them.. Not (just) the Straws.
I want to repeat my point which you seem to miss "The reason this straw campaign is so wide spread is because it's so easy for everyone to get on." So if you're going to have this "get it 100% perfect or don't do it at all", then we're not really going to make any progress. Replacing plastic spoons with metal spoons is a logistical hurdle that some people can't afford. Why stop at plastic spoons? They should use solar energy! Stop using air conditioning! Get the point?
