This is actually really cool! In norwegian they are called "knølhval" and this picture actually capture a "rituale" they do to catch food(fish). So, I'll try to explain (but excuse my english..) Knølhvalen is capable to kind of stand vertical in the water, so ususally like three og four whales stand like that under water (like deep down), and then three (or more/less) other whales circle them while blowing air out (from somewhere I don't remeber right now...) This kind of creates a wall of air bubbles around the four whales standing vertically. (this method is called bubble-net-fishing, this is a direct translate from norwegian) And this bubble wall will trap a shoal of fish, and then the whales standing vertically just wooosh up with a wide open mouth and you know.. dinner time
