I seriously doubt that everyone studied gender studies. How popular can it be? Also, your comment seemed to prove the point of the text.

Well, and who the hell else would bring it up as the first point? Like, unless you studied in fields of science related to climate change, why the hell would that be the thing you would want to mention? And even if you did, cheap facts that you found on Facebook is not a good starting point.
