I have a bf who likes making feminist jokes and IS a LITTLE feminist though not strongly and whenever we learned about Greece he loved Sparta and was all like "Sparta is the land for men" and I emailed this to him and he came up to me the next day at school and was like, "So why do you fit all but one of the Spartan women descriptions?" And I was like, "Which one?" And he was like "since you're so much like Spartan woman already, my thirst for completion requires that you wear short skirts"

You should keep that boyfriend. He seems fucking funny and awesome. xD.
Nice. A lovely bit of casual sexism, there. Funny how it's considered 'okay' for women to be sexist; and that's before we even mention the domestic abuse that is apparently 'totally badass' for women to commit. Grow the fuck up, and remember that the key word in the phrase 'sexual equality' is 'equality'.
Yeah. They used to 'expose' newborn babies that were deemed 'unfit' (showed any signs of weakness, deformity, disability, or imperfection) by abandoning them to die, on a sacred mountain top, from either exposure, heat exhaustion, sunburn, thirst, starvation, or attack from wild animals. Sounds great, doesn't it?....NOT! Seriously, poorly educated, ill considered threads, from 'like, totally' stupid, thick-as-pigshit, juvenile idiots, like this give all genuine feminists a bad name as they're always trotted out as evidence of feminists being stupid. Do all real feminists a favour, and shut your stupid mouth before you do any more damage.
Sparta does not exist any more... but I agree with this post, yet at the same time I'm sure Spartan women aren't anywhere close to women in today's society.
