i feel bad when my neighbor mows our shared front lawn for like the 3rd time in a row, but i know that in a couple weeks he’ll be mowing it for the 4th time in a row

My neighbor and I refer to this as the "first penguin" in the Spring. Everyone in the neighborhood waits as long as they can. When that first person breaks down and mows their yard, all other yards are mowed within four days.
