These "homophobic people are gay" jokes are backwards af. First of all it says straight people can't be homophobic because the homophobes are just gay. Second it's using gay as an insult. Third it's ignoring the problem of a gay person suffering and hating himself, and instead you mock the gay people for having internalized homophobia? Shouldn't you be helping them instead? I'm so sick of these homophobic jokes. They're clearly made by a straight homophobe to turn gay into a bad thing.

I don't think it is used and much less intended as an insult, but as irony. "He complains so much of gays, but he follows them everywhere" not because they are "closeted' but because they are stupid and they are being trolled. Obviously person on the left most probably is not homophobic.

If I see that, I would just ask a guy friend to kiss with me in front of him, just to piss him off
