In my opinion, MY OPINION as an Asian, it's not racist not being able to tell different Asian part bc people with similar features (to Asian: dark hair, medium skin tone, slim figure, dark brown eyes) look similar.
But it's very ignorant to assume every Asian you meet is Chinese.
I just can't assume every big white person I meet is American right? That's just wrong.
So even if you assume they're Chinese, even if you KNOW they're Chinese, don't say ni-hao when you see them as you won't be able to continue the conversation in Chinese anyways.
The way that they are try to expand territorial water boundaries by make artificial islands and arming them, with a large military increase, we could all be Chinese one day.
Much related is the fact that NOT every individual who speaks Spanish is Mexican. As a native Spanish speaker I find it offensive when people automatically assume you hail from Mexico. Not.
