Currently at pre-med, but a friend of mine while going on rotation was told repeatedly by the nursing staff to be prepared for a load of bullshit from the patients to the hospital system. Got a ton of the same stuff myself while volunteering on EMT rotations
That being said, don't let it bring you down. I've had moments like when patients would completely change up their medical historys when they got asked the same questions by ER staff, to helping a patient who had such a bad asthma attack they went into syncope. It's a difficult field, but very rewarding in its moments.

Not my story, but a friend of mine is dating a nurse who recently had to help an elderly woman put her asshole back inside her. Her anus prolapsed and they helped her put it back, only for her to try sitting up and having it happen again.
That's all the story I heard, I dunno what happened after or if they resolved the issue.
I was a summer volunteer for a hospital where I live. This was my first year working the ER, so it was like my second day or so. The worker I was following went into a wing called “The prisoner’s Wing” because there was a patient back there from the local prison. We walk in and the guy is struggling because he’s trying to get out of his handcuff to the bed. The smell of piss is eminent because instead of asking for a bed pan, he just took it out and aimed for the trash can. Fair to say that shook 14 year olds me
