That's a hedgehog.... Hedgehogs don't do the same thing as porcupines...

The quills are still sharp to a degree and if frightened I'm sure the hedgehog could use them as a defense.

Their defense is to ball up an the quills protect it somewhat from animals eating it they do not detach
