Any banning of guns is unconstitutional as well as any high taxes on bullets. If you're talking about background checks, you get background checks whether buying at a gun store, online, or at a gun show. Trust me, I know. Mental health tests are a good idea but a national registry is also unconstitutional as guns cannot be passed down to family easily.
Don't say buy a shotgun, shotguns are harder to shoot. Women generally have a tough time as well as smaller men. Ar15s and the sort are easier for women to use in the event of a home invasion.
It's great that they want more gun regulations, but if a criminal wants a gun, they're gonna find a way to get one, even if it means stealing it from someone who is a responsible owner of it.
I am a but busy today but if you would like you can go to the bureau of crime statistics and research at www.bocsar.nsw.gov.au and see that Australian violent crime has gone up since their gone ban.
Now onto the mass shootings, these psychopaths nearly always commit these horrible acts in "gun free zones" including malls, schools, and the such. There is no one to defend themselves.
Gun free zones are what bothers me. It's all like "It is illegal to carry a gun here! Cuz, ya know, criminals ALWAYS follow laws!" Chicago has the the highest amount of gun control in America and look how Chicago's doing. New York City and Detroit also have really strict gun control laws, and look how they're doing. What to all these cities have in common? HIGH CRIME RATES.
I think this is an American problem. lots of other countries have guns legally but there's still not as much shootings as in America. I think if you guys didn't view your constitution as the be all end all sacred text then maybe thongs could get better. Yoy should he allowed to arm yourself but why should you choose the most dangerous weapon when you're probably not going to use it. Also, many places that have tough gun control such as the UK have very low gun crime rates. I thinly its just a different way of thinking that males America like this.
Also America is much, much bigger than Britain or many European countries so it makes sense that there are more people, thus more criminals who shoot people. The constitution keeps the president or any one branch of government from having power over the others. If we stopped following the constitution, it would make it a heck ton easier for someone to seize complete control.
