Do Indian take the same English course as we do? Cause sometimes it feels like they don't

I mean we do learn the same language. Some people don't start until sixth grade and cover a lot less depending on the school they go to (i.e. government or private, rural or urban). A lot of people also do not get to practice what they learn, which is why their grammar sometimes comes off as wonky.
