1 this joke was old when he put it in his act, 2 having a population made up 80% by minorities means that all those minorities put together are 80% of the population but the majority is 20% and higher than any singular group. It's a dumb joke.

this is incorrect. new york city has 28% hispanic, 22.8% black people, 12.6% asian people, 1.8 % other and 0.2% native american. BUT white alone is 33.3% so there are more white people than any other race. so since there are more white people, that makes every other race a minority. .

He didnt say one specific race did he? No he said minorities in general so if we put them all together then he is correct because there are more minorities than white people. Also what you just said was something white people would say.

Also minority doesn't mean numerically in this sense. It means a group of people who have less, (opportunities, and the like).
