I forget at the moment, but the guy who married Esmeralda in the book (Phebes, Phebus, somewhere around that?) never loved and has sex with Esmeralda and then is tortured and killed by Frollo in the book because of the jealousy that Frollo had of him.

The only thing I remember from the movie is that some rich dude tried to kill Quasi, and tries to get with Esmeralda and sung about how if she can't be his, he'll basically kill her..
