I hate it when people make fun of self-harmers. I used to self harm and I still sometimes do. Why? I have a sister who hates me and who I have to live with, I'm scared that my moms cancer will return, I hate having to take narcotics every damn day for pain and doctors can't figure out what is the true cause of it, but they know its real pain. And a lot more crap. I never wan to be in a relationship. I've been called ugly, a druggie, fat, and a lot more things. I have no friends to talk to anything about it. Never make fun of someone like that. You never know what's behind their scars. Everyone has a story. Everyone goes thru shit. Not everyone deals with it the same way.

If anyone is gross its you. It takes incredible mental strength to stop because self harm becomes an addiction, it releases a high that is basically the same as a drug or alcohol addiction.

Well first guest they never said she was fat she's probably not even fat in the first place and second she's not going to have scars on her tits she probably has scars,on her stomach/hip/thigh area where people actually self harm

If they got 'emotional pain' there are plenty of other ways to deal with it. Like normal teenagers would drink or do drugs because they're not fucked in the head like people that cut themselves. And good they should cover their cuts nobody wants to see that gross shit
Sorry that I can never understand why someone would hurt themselves on purpose, and then show it off to people for attention. If they really wanted my attention they would kill themselves but oh they're too pussy to do it
If they do it for attention then why do they try to hide it only people who show it are attention seeking whores who don't have anything wrong with them and just want people to feel bad for them even when nothing's wrong

Drinking and doing drugs is far worse than harming yourself! You think they're not "fucked in the head" if they're TEENAGERS and drinking and doing drugs?! Yes, harming yourself isn't the height of goodness in your life, and I speak from tough experience, but drinking and doing drugs (which is also harm) is worse. Emotional people cover up wherever they cut because the attention and abuse and bullying isn't something they can handle! Avoiding the question, "Why do you cut yourself?" is hard and when that question comes up, they'll freak out! So covering is something they--we--do because we don't want anyone to know--for anyone to give us bad attention. People cut themselves because they can't handle the stuff going on in their life--bullying, things at home, traumatic experiences, abuse! It's better to cut yourself than to kill yourself, right? Some people might not know other ways to deal with everything. Be careful of what you say, because even the smallest of words can kill someone.
I think he's allowed to say that he finds self-inflicted scars to be a turn-off. She cuts herself because she doesn't love herself, why does she automatically deserve unconditional love?

The problem nowadays is that self-harm is romantacised as something that reflects deep inner turmoil. However researchers at Lund University, Sweden found that self-harm is highly prevalent in normal teenage girls; most importantly these girls did not fulfill any criteria for mental health issues. The reasons given for beginning self-harm included being recommended by a friend that it would make them feel better,and seeing it on tv and in movies, experimentation and seeking pity and attention, among other things. A massive 25% of teens admitted to self-harm, a much higher figure than levels of mental health issues. It was also found to be 400% more likely in girls. These girls admitted that self-harm on the arms was the most popular location since it was most easily discovered by others; an extension of the desire for attention and subsequent pity.
