Why do they float like that? For fun? Is it just a thing they do?

It's mainly sperms whales that sleeps like that. They dive down and then turn around so their heads are facing upwards and then sleep. By doing that they slowly drift to the surface and sleep for 10/15mn, so when they wake up the surface is just a few flaps away to take a breath.
