I noticed that too when I was younger! At school I would always ask my friends what my house smells like because no matter how hard I tried, I could never notice a scent :/
my house (accortding to my friends) smells like pillows and candles. of course to my best friend it smells like "satanism, twiggy, you smell like satan"
It's because you have lived there long enough to get used to the smell so you don't smell it anymore but other people do. We get used to almost everything, except for pain we never get used to pain.
I have been in constante pain for over 7 years.. Slowly the pain get's less and less.. And no, I'm not getting better, I just don't notice that much anymore becouse it's been there for so long..
The pain never really goes away, but your body becomes conditioned to believe it's normal... so after a while you don't notice it's there as much. Like a background noise that's always on, eventually you stop noticing.
(( My house smells like dog and sour milk (I've got a dog and a baby brother and my mom doesn't know how to pick up after herself) and I can smell it because my room smells different (according to my family it smells like cat and flowers)
my older cousin would always give me the clothes that didn't fit her, after she wore them (for like a year right. like hand-me-downs) and they were awesome so i always took them and i didn't smell their house smell but on the clothes i would smell it, but it wasen't my cousin then i realized there house actually smelt like that im like wat
