That's because he's Christian. He has the right to close the store when he wants to, like in Israel all the shops are closed Saturday because of Shabbat. A little annoying, but it's nice to see someone respect their religion.

Not all Christians are like that. There are a select few that just happen to make the rest look bad. Just like there are some Athiests who make Athiesm look bad. There are always going to be bad people, but that doesn't mean that what they believe in is bad.
