They're pretty bad at it tho
The Brits actually owned things back the day
When the USA just kinda comes over, fucks up and refuses to leave but archives absolutely nothing.
Just kill their own people and others while getting nothing done.
Our soldiers are better than those everywhere else in any way, but our "leaders" have too much of a vested interest in prolonging and losing the engagements.
If we *wanted* to own everything, we would.
As it is, I would rather we back off. And when someone tries to hit us again, just glass their fields and slaughter their leaders and fighters, and then come home again.
You ain't going to own shit, you destroyed the land dramatically.
Outta all the bullies that have tried to fuck with us, American must be one of the biggest cowards BC until now, lots of you people still can't admin you defeat and that you tried to fuck with us first.
At least other countries admitted what they did was wrong and not hiding behind "freedom"
I said that we gave up on the war. I'm just not letting you rewrite history and claim that it was martial superiority that won Vietnam, when it was actually a PR campaign coupled with bad actors sabotaging us back home.
We made a mistake agreeing to help the French try to retain their colony, I will cop to that. We missed a prime opportunity to have a fierce and reliable ally in a unified Vietnam. Instead throwing our lot in with corrupt puppets. Beyond that our soldiers performed exceptionally, especially given the social and military conditions.
Y'all didn't defeat the American warfighter, you just got lucky our leaders failed to let us win, after being unfortunate enough to get caught up our European entanglement.
Do you even know your own country's history? Our leaders explicitly forbade us from even setting foot in North Vietnam outside of limited support to southern forces.
And your government attempted to set up fake authority here thinking they could fool everyone about freedom and independence?
You lost.
Move on.
Stop dropping bomb in other countries for oil, land, army.
Take care of your own people for once.
We went there for the wrong reasons. Never denied that. South Vietnam was fucked. Never denied that either. But we haven't gone to war to take oil or land for ourselves in over 200 years. And you're right, we should look inwards more than outwards. Not our problem that China wants Asia and Russia wants Europe and the Middle East. We should just kick back and only ever slaughter anyone who threatens us, let the rest fight it out themselves.
But we didn't lose any battles. Not one operation failed due to enemy action. Where did North Vietnamese might win the day? It didn't. The closest y'all got was Hue City, and that only lasted for about a day and is largely acknowledged by your side as a military failure. We left, but were not routed or pushed out. We left when your people agreed to negotiate. And then your people broke treaty and beat the South. After we left.

But alright, you'll learn.
