It had to do with recent legislation that they were trying to pass in Texas which makes it just about impossible for women to get abortions, birth control, basically women health.

So what's the point of that legislation? I'm a bit confused
The point of the legislation was to ban abortions after a certain number of weeks. It would reduce the number of clinics that women could go to in order to abortions. Clinics that also offered mammograms, gyno for women, which makes it difficult to get help.
If birth control was easy to get, and not just condoms, the number of abortions would be a lot lower. Just like if teens were taught safe sex instead of the abstinence only stuff.
Geez, look at all the likes this one got. Are my posts even in the positives anymore?
Oh, btw, let's not forget Texas and other southern states trying to f with minorities ability to vote. It's like an all-around effort to get back to the bad 'ol days down there.
Did you know that after that certain number of weeks, to have an abortion, they have to remove the baby from your body and abort it, after it was already formed, a couple of weeks before the due date, when it would have made it if it had been born regularly, and they stab it in the back of the head with a scalpel at the base of the neck? Then they dispose of the body that technically would have been alive anyway had it been born then. That baby would have been a person. The personality part of the brain had been formed already.
My nephew was born at the cutoff- 26 weeks. He is and was long before he was born a person. I don't know what I would do without him. My family are gynecologists/ obstetricians. I know what I am talking about.
Just wondering if you had been properly informed about that human rights issue.
Oh yeah, and I'm from SC. We are not racists. We just only want people who are legally allowed to vote, to be the ones voting. And you are stereotyping southern people.
God I think it's so pathetic that we live in a world where half the people think life is something useless no one understands the value on it. Go ahead dislike my post and dislike Texas. But half the people who are "disliking" this are goin off of what they have been taught by liberals to say.
Wtf are you even talking about???
Btw, I think it's hilarious that someone using the word "liberal", most likely as an insult, is upset about the Indoctrination Bogeyman.
I know this is an old post but I want to say my opinion. Most of you probably don't realize that Texas is a southern state. Meaning we(yes I am a Texan) are a state with a lot of religion. In religion abortion is wrong. So is premarital sex. So if you look at it from the religious point of view, the woman should have to "suffer" through pregnancy because she shouldn't have been having sex if she wasn't married. And even without religion killing that baby is wrong. How would you have liked it if your mother aborted you? Oh yeah you wouldn't know cuz you wouldn't exist. The baby is a person. And while " the condom may have broke" well then uh you know pull out. And in the case if rape, it is a sensitive issue. I still don't believe abortion is right but I understand a rape victim getting an abortion. But there is always adoption. And if giving the baby away is too hard then keep it. It won't 'ruin' your life it'll just take it down a different path.
Just because Texas is pro-life now doesn't mean you have to be pissed about it, I mean most of the people from Texas had nothing to do with this legislation. I live near austin and to be honest I'm pro life too. If you can take the responsibility to get pregnant then you can take the responsibility of having a child. If you don't want to you can put it up for a adoption or find some other way to get out of raising it. I mean sure there can be abortions under extreme surcumstances like rape.
But people shouldn't be getting abortions every other month honestly.
it was more than just an abortion bill, it had to do with womens reproductive rights as well, like restricting the use of the morning after pill, thats not fair, its not my fault the condom broke at least it gives me a little piece of mind, no man should deside what is healthy for a woman, im not saying your're a dude but im just saying
I am a guy, and I know it isn't necessarily my place to have a say in things like this but I am pro-life. I know guys can get some hate on this subject for even having an opinion but its just the way I feel about it. Every time I think about it I always come back to the thought that its a possible human life that is being destroyed because someone didn't take things seriously
Just... no. There are these things called one time mistakes and a woman should have the right to choose if that one mistake should be a part of defining her for the rest of her life. It took literally one time for me to get pregnant. It was an accident on both our parts and I even took the morning after pill but still ended up pregnant. I decided to go the adoption route but I am telling you right now, adoption does not just make it go away! You have to be strong and logical and caring to do something like that. It is definitely not for everyone. I could barely handle it myself. So to force someone into a position like that where you have to choose to keep it or place for adoption is unacceptable. Abortion is still a big choice and should not be taken lightly or misused (like having one every other month as you put it) but should still be a choice. But I guess that's just my opinion, take it as you will.
May I point out that some women don't even choose to have sex? What about women that are raped? Would you expect every one of those victims to keep a rape-baby? I don't get why people would want women to have a child whose father is a rapist. It's their choice on what to do with their bodies. We shouldn't take away those rights.
See? Just for being a guy and having an opinion people are against me. I actually said that it should be allowed in certain situations such as rape and it just shows that all you heard from my posts is that I'm a guy. I'm not against you're opinion and I'm not getting involved in any of this.
Like I said its just the way I feel about it and you don't have to feel the same way
May I add that most rapes aren't reported? No one wants it to be everybody's knowledge that they were raped. Some women think it makes them seem weak, some people call them whores without even knowing the circumstances because why else would a man rape them? My best friend was raped by her boyfriend, but she didn't want to get him arrested for doing that so she never told anyone except me. Her child is three years old and she's seventeen. It's not just a matter of people being responsible, and as it's been pointed out before, it isn't just abortion that is getting harder to get there now. Besides, why the fuck should a baby whose father is an asshole have less right to life than any other child. I am pro-good life. That means that if a kid isn't wanted or a woman isn't able to care for it or find someone who will, they should have an abortion. I would much rather kill a fetus than see a child neglected, abused, or murdered. Kill a fetus rather than letting a child kill him or herself.
Everyone's just trying to argue with me because I'm not female.
I could honestly give less of a fuck for what you guys have to say, all I'm doing is stating how I feel about it.
My mom had four miscarriages and I witnessed them all. It's changed how I view things, I think everyone should have a chance to live. If you don't agree with me cool, it doesn't affect me. I'm just saying how I feel about it
Why the fuck does it have to be about your gender? I've never once seen anyone but YOU mention that you were male and supposedly can't have an opinion. You're doing the discussion equivalent of playing the race card. stfu
