Some argue it's been downhill ever since the agricultural revolution.
But it very certainly has been since the industrial revolution. This post-modern existence is but a joke....
Yeah, no. I rather like having hot water and internet. Nevermind firearms, vehicles, movies, variety of foods, and most other modern amenities. I've spent enough time without to know what I prefer.
I have lived for months without hot water, the internet and even toilet paper and it's been the happiest I've ever been.
I don't believe that our bodies and minds are made to live like we do now.
But we don't, is the thing. Some mountain men love being away from it all. I could manage just fine in such an environment if I had full fish and game rights, enough land, and some folk to share it with.
But others still can't live without the hustle and bustle. And so many variations without and in-between.
As it is, I like running water. I like complex machining, I like climate control. I really like not dying of poison or accident because nobody knows that alcohol is a wound cleansing agent and medicine isn't witchcraft.
I believe you're trying to say is: human innovation has made the life of the individual much more comfortable.
But I think that the OP was meant to go from the concrete (human being) to the abstract. Claiming that the overall state of mankind was better before the industrial revolution.
Not even speaking of the extinction of other species, the pollution of nature and climate change which come as a direct result of the industrial revolution.
As all humans aimed for tiny progresses which made their life a little bit more comfortable, huge and onforeseen consequences arised in the long run...
No need for vulgar language my friend
Starvation is an issue that has increased over time.
Humans in hunter-gatherer societes were very well nourished because their diet consisted of such a wide variety of plants and animals.
After the agricultural revolution humans became smaller and weaker because their nutrition became more monotonous.
If we look at the causes of starvation today the main reasons are:
- Economic speculation with agricultural products
- Plantation of plants used for biofuel (sugarcane, oil palm) instead of nourishments
- Usage of edible plants such as wheat and corn for biofuel
- Usage of a huge portion of the agricultural land for the meat industry (overall consumption of too much meat by few people)
- Global warming rendering soil unusable
Which all come by as either a direct or indirect result of the industrial revolution, globalization, and the path away from our natural way of living.

Wow. Everything you said is wrong. Starvation is lessening in humanity. A lower proportion of humans go hungry than ever before, there's just more of us. And things getting warmer is *good* for food production. More arable land for longer. We're living the dream humanity has pined for for millenia.
Starvation is most certainly on the rise, not on the decline. Not only in absolute but also in relative numbers.

Where do you find the idea that global warming is good for food production and makes arable land? Where do you live?
@e we are chill, some people genuinely enjoy discussing these things with strangers on the internet:)

Fair enough, ig I'm just automatically suspicious of any political debates online just knowing how toxic it can get. But as long as y'all are having fun then more power to you
