greenland was never green before it was always icy even more then now, iceland have greenparts only cos its vulcanic island and as everyone know culcanic ash is the best ground, maybe vikings just confused two place when named things same in american indians they called indian however they have nothing common with India.

actually, you can. the Vikings named the lands like that on purpouse to trick enemies. no one would want to go to a place full of ice and cold and harsh weather so they would go to Greenland expecting a land like Iceland, but in reality landed in the place they most feard.

Not true. During the time the Vikings were there, Greenland had a mild climate where vegetation could thrive. They actually produced large crops of barley. What did you learn in social studies anyways?
