i’m going to explain this to my kids, and encourage them to follow their dreams and seek the education necessary to those goals but to understand that college isn’t the requirement they make you feel it is when you’re in school

My wife went to college for engineering. Her first apprenticeship was with the states department of transportation. 16 years later she has given us a great life by choosing a path in her 20s and following it. After 25 years working for the state you can retire and still receive 80% of your salary and continue benefits. We're proponents for working a job with security for the government or a civil utility company. You can get a job working for the railroad, power company being a lineman, a park ranger, a shipping company, a pilot.. receive benefits, 401k and a stable secure job.
