That's the thing; everyone always tells Harry what a good person he is, and how special he is, but half the time in the books he just runs around being a jerk. Of course he has his redeeming qualities (plus he has to deal with Voldemort's shit), but I don't see how people can just overlook the fact that at times Harry can just be downright mean.

I agree with that, mainly. I always secretly hoped that somehow Neville would be the one the prophecy was really talking about. Sigh.

He could have been. At that point, if Voldemort killed Neville's parents instead of Harry's, Neville would have been "The Boy Who Lived". The prophesy would have been right with either one.
