Why can't society understand that this stuff they say crawls under our skin and eats us alive? When we end it, they stop saying those cruel, hateful words and start saying nice ones... Is it one or the other?

Because everybody wants to be good (at least good in others eyes) n go to heaven but the reality is we are too self centered. And when the person ends it the rest are left with a temporary reminder of their own immortality.
