When I was four years old, I thought that I was black,
'Cause I could run, my neihbor was, and I liked Jay Z.
I told my mom, tears rushing down my face
She's like "Ben you've been white since before pre-k, trippin' "
Yeah, I guess she had a point, didn't she?
Bunch of stereotypes all in my head.
I remember doing the math like, "Yeah, i like kool-aid"
A preconceived idea of what it all meant
For those that are different races
Had the characteristics
The right wing conservatives think their criminals
And you should be put away with some iron bars and handcuffs
Man-made steryotyping of a predisposition
Playing God, aw nah here we go
Parts of America the brave still thinks its 1934
And God loves all his children, is somehow forgotten
But we judge a race based off of a couple bad apples
I thought this was a mostly free world. And I also thought that even though you don't have to share your feelings, you can, and that people were supposed to respect that and not be full-blown bastards about it.
It's not dissing black people any more than the actual version is dissing homosexuals. I'm a lesbian and my sister's black and trust me, neither this song nor any version of it that takes a similar stance is bigoted in any way. It being a free world does not mean that people are supposed to respect you calling someone else racist when they aren't. No one is being even a little bit of an ass towards you, they just are sick of you trying to say that someone is racist when they explained that if you listened to it, it clearly isn't a racist/homophobic song. Saying "Lime -.-" does not make someone a bastard, nor does explaining shit.
It's funny how the most thought provoking insight into society can be found on Funsubstance. I knew the parody would get some negative attention but it also shows how narrow minded some people are. They see the word "black" and immediately thinks its racist. The ending literally says how we shouldn't play God and be judging people for things they can't help. And no Lime I'm not dissing you I just think that it is very interesting

Can't you take a joke without acting like a total bitch bringing cultural shit into it?!
There are lots of things you can do that could insult someone, Lime, but as the message is one of /support/ I think that this is one of the least hurtful things on Funsubstance.
Then maybe you should try being less sensitive. I'm sorry, that seems really rude, but if that song hurts you but you go and say things like you're racist/assholes/bastards or "who listens to your opinions", you have a serious issue that needs to be resolved. I'm sorry that it hurt you that someone posted a revised version of that song, but frankly, you don't have any right in my eyes to be hurt by that... :/ This isn't meant to be offensive or hurtful, so what are you going to do when people actually mean to hurt you? In my opinion, people really need to lighten up. If you can't take a supportive message or teasing, then you're going to die in the real world, or end up a hermit who cuts down all the trees because they looked at you funny.
Really? I have a problem? Everyone on this site makes fun of me because of my age and my ideas. It's not my fault I'm a genius. Furthermore, everyone curses me out at least thrice a week. "You can't say this, but they can say this! And if you do, you have a serious problem". Wow. Just wow. It breaks my heart that the world thinks this is okay. "Since you were born with sensitive feelings, you have a problem." That's like saying "Since you have autism, you have a problem with your feelings".
I don't have any idea how old you are and I haven't heard any of your ideas, I'm sorry that people 'curse you out' but I don't believe that that's my problem. And you probably weren't born with sensitive feelings, you just choose to look at everything as something you should be upset about or an attack on you. My sister is the same way, and both of you have a problem BECAUSE you are going to have one hell of a time functioning in society, just like people with health issues or a mental illness. The difference is, you CAN change how sensitive you are by not looking at it as "that is offensive" and by looking at it as "hey, this post is a kid, and that song is helping others" or if someone says something about you you can go "YOU'RE A DICK" or you can get over it and be like "hey, maybe I should actually work on that". You can't fix everyone else any more than I can fix you, only you can make the decision to change, just like only we can.
Dude, I have lots of friends. I'm not a social outcast. I may be sensitive, I may not be "icey chill", and I may fucking not be popular. But I don't give a shit. I'm happy I'm alive, and that is why I am unfollowing these comments to get done with this mediocrity.
I found it racist. Because someone sees something different from someone else's perspective doesn't mean you can just drive them into the ground because you disagree. I thought something different. You are all hateful for no reason to other people.
Calling someone black is not racist! Calling someone white is the exact same. If you ask an African American, sometimes they will even say I'm not African. Black is just refuring to the race that has a dark skin color. The N word is offense to some people but recently even that has been more acceptable, have you heard any rap songs recently?
Oh my goodness, Lime, you can have whatever opinion you want, but if you put a white term in for a black term and it isn't racist, then it isn't freaking racist. Nothing is racist just because of the race you're talking about. If you're find with calling people white then calling people black is just as okay. Racism is not determined by which words you're using or who you're speaking about/to, or who 'feels' that it's 'racist', racism is when the person SPEAKING is discriminating between races, no matter which race they're discriminating against. That is racism. It might feel offensive to you, but it is not racist unless the person SPEAKING IT is discriminating. Asking what race we are is so you can judge us (don't say it isn't - why else would you ask? You want to know so that you can judge whether or not we have a right to say something is racist and whether or not you can say that we're just white and we don't have any idea what racism is) is going to lead to YOU doing something
racist. It doesn't matter which form of prejudice it is, that's the way it works for sexism, people who are bigotted against gays, people who judge based on weight, people who judge based on social class. So sure, I'm white, and you can go ahead and think "oh, she has no right to say this isn't racist" but the fact is, racism is NOT the only form of prejudice out there. My mom is a single waitress raising three children and you have no idea how many people judge us for our social class. I live in a very religious area, and I have an unusual sexuality, and I worry every day about whether or not the people I interact with would accept me if I came out to them. My little sister is black and my baby brother is hispanic and I swear to God almighty, if something were prejudiced in any way, I would be tearing it down.
