I had a duck like this! His name was topknot but ironically when he got older he drowned :(

Not insensitive, many domesticated ducks have become so specially bred that inbreeding occurs and well, they loose their instincts and develope "ticks." Topknot didn't have any ticks that I was aware of but the water bowl in the enclosure was probably deeper than it should have been. The chickens were smart enough.
