I think Guest 1 was saying that a man isn't even strong enough to pull off the velvet suit so a woman wouldn't have the strength either. I don't understand the dislikes.

The first comment meant they can "pull it off" as a fashion statement, the second on meant physically pull it off him. Just so we are clear on that.
