How did it come to be an apple? All it said was "fruit" in the bible.

I have heard that the Hebrew word for sin and apple look very similar

There have been ideas about this, it might've not even been a fruit, it was just that when Eve "ate" the fruit, she was able to know about good and evil, and thus could make good decisions and wrong ones.
