I dont mean to sound like a smart ass but erm, the sun isn't on fire. The sun makes energy for itself through a process called nuclear fusion. The sun takes lighter elements and converts them into heavier elements, this produces a lot of energy and heat.

Ummm...wtf does Fox News have to do with any of this?
