I had Veterans day off of school.

My school didnt even so much as have a moment of silence for it

American public schools are supposed to dedicate an entire week to Veteran's Day but teachers barely mention it

My school had a four hour delay for it, and we had a video for morning announcements. That's it.

We have a program that lasts about an hour, and always have several different vets attend, where we recognize each one. And we don't get out for MLK day. Of course, it might be because we're a town that in the past was associated with KKK, and only have a handful of black students in the entire school.

MLK day is a possible make up day incase we get out for snow before then(which we usually do), but we go to school on Veteran's Day and have a program for it at school.

I live in a miltary town so we had the day off and there was a special ceremony and everything

No, but seriously, maybe take this up with them beforehand, and don't use it as an excuse to get your kid and your kid ONLY a day off school.

I was in our school's program for veterans' day. We also had the day off.
