Not in England. The worst I've seen a proper cyclist do (No those squeakers on bmxs) is go onto the road from the cycle path when there were cars going.
Actually, sir they are people. Different people act different ways. Some more similarly based on their community. Many times I have been out driving and seen cyclists riding properly. If people would learn to give them a little more patience since they use their legs to move their vehicle, and that riding uphill in the wind can be pretty hard. They are criticized for being too slow when riding in the roads, but then pedestrians get nervous when the're on the sidewalks. What do we expect for them to do?
I used to ride my bike to work when the weather was nice, as well as TRY to ride just for fun and exercise, but I would have several near misses EVERY DAY thanks to drivers not paying attention or knowing what right of way is. My riding is fine, and I know what I can and can't do, not to mention I had my head on a swivel much like I do when driving a car, because most people on the road drive like it's their first time. Not to mention you can't be sure who has insurance around here, so it pays double to drive defensively. I'm going on a tangent now, so I'll stop.
There aren't nearly enough, though. Especially in my area. Most of the time there aren't even sidewalks, and pedestrians and cyclists alike have to share the narrow shoulder of the road if they don't want to get run over.
Well that is terrible and terrifying. Where I am at there's a lot of forest, bike trails, and in the citys they have their own lane but they ride on the white line anyway just to be dicks.
But if there isn't any of that? Share. Id be terrified to be peddling along next to a semi.
