It's the height of human arrogance to be standing on shore while a person is drowning, yet expecting God to save them. Did anyone ever stop to wonder maybe God did do something to help that drowning person by putting you there to help them?
All of our money, and all of our science, and what has it produced? Bigger and better weapons, more expensive pills and medical procedures, and an easier way to download porn.
Yeah, go science...
Science isn't always bad though, cures for diseases etc, science didn't make medicine or procedures expensive, your governments did, I'm from the UK so we get 'free' healthcare. But it would be better if it was on a pay for what you use kind of thing... Rather then taking a huge chunk of my earnings for something I've luckily not even had to use.
Science and religion... apples and oranges my friends. Por que no los dos? Religion is like a guideline for life. It is based on having faith in something intangible. Science is just "a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explainationsand predictions about the universe". ** everyone knows the Vatican has scientists, right?
Everything God plans is for a reason, no matter how cruel it may seem, even vegans, JB, Miley Cyrus, Lady Gagga etc, see from nr 2 everything is a disaster! BUT it's for a reason.
What i don't understand is why is it that religion tells you, you cant be gay or whatever, because its a "sin", but science tells you you can or cant do things, just because you can or cant, why is it, religion has to restrict what people want to do in life. If people want to be against gays or anything else, okay fine. But why should they try to tell or protest to other people about it. Science doesn't get rammed down your throats, you can chose to ignore it if you want, but religion is ALWAYS there.. Like come on, things like Facebook and twitter has made it too easy and acceptable to tell others how they should or shouldn't live there own life.
Sorry for long comment, whoever reads gets a cookie,
Got a load of dislikes on my comment just wanted to clear up that I was just having a rant, i just don't understand why your not allowed to do some things if you're religious when its not hurting anyone if they do it. Like killing someone is wrong, religious or not but in my opinion, i don't think someone being gay hurts anyone and yet they are against it?
You can have any cookie you like, even Nutella ^_^ /O
Huh. I would actually say the opposite is true. Yes, religious people can be vocal, but I can't tell you how many times my (atheist to the point of being rabidly anti-religion) dad has thrown the "Science is true whether your believe it or not" line at me. I tend to quote Men In Black back to him, K's line about how "500 years ago they *knew* the earth was round, and yesterday you *knew* we were alone in the universe. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow", which is, somehow, not funny, but eh.
I'm agnostic myself, so I think both sides are pretty amusing.
