"And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time!
But he loves you. He loves you, and he needs money!"

Yeah, I agree with that. It's just a little stupid. I got told I was going to Hell yesterday because I felt lust toward a woman, and disliked someone. Therefore I am deserving of an eternity in Hell. Doesn't that seem a little weird?
Not all forms of Christianity believe that you got to heaven or hell when you die. And not all of them take your money, at the church I go to, giving money is optional and it goes towards helping people in 3rd world countries. Miapeanut, I sorry if the Christians you have met or heard about a like that, but you can't go putting us all in the same group.
Even if this is meant to be funny and provocative I disagree. Religion and religious believes all have a story and different traditions so we have to respect them anyway.

Yes, it is true they have different stories and traditions, but we do not have to respect them. Because most religions have incredibly jaded morals, and have done some really horrible things. Nothing that promotes and justifies incredibly horrible things deserves respect.
Well don't you want people to respect the fact that you don't believe in a god or higher power? You were saying that it was strange that you were being told off so why would you tell off someone who just views things differently? I'm atheist but I still think we should respect religion and everyone's choices. Not everyone is "evil" because of their religion, sometimes it helps a person to be better, it all depends on that person's view of life.
Because I'm not going to respect anyone who views things in a morally reprehensible way. They don't just view it differently, their view of it makes them do horrible things frequently. I agree we should respect people's choices and views, but only if it isn't infringing on anyone else's choices and views. Sometimes religion does make them better; most of the time it doesn't, though.
Isn't that basically what you're doing? Making a stereotype against all people who have a religion?

No, I'm not. I'm just saying that most major religions invoke a lot of violence. I'm not saying everyone who believes in a higher power is evil, I'm just saying most religions themselves have jaded morals.
More like there are certain people who twist the words of that said religion into what they want it to be so that they can say "it's in the name of god/higher power or being"

That is happening a lot, yes, but there are scriptures in the Bible itself that tell of homosexuality being evil and okay to have slaves.
From people tampering with it so again they could say it was in the name of god. When the bible was originally written do you think it was written like that with so much hate? People changed it as a way to make sure what they wanted would happen.

The very first Bible written had that stuff about slavery and homosexuality. It was written like that because they did believe it back then. Just like the earth being flat and the sun going around it. That is what they believed back then.
Guys, stop judging everyone for this. Most christians are kind and loving people, but, as media is secular, they only really publish the bad stories about them. zmatrixng, you're being really offensive. That is not actually what Christians believe in, and no one is born evil, and religion makes no one evil. stop blaming religions for people's bad choices.

Listen, I'm not saying anything about Christians themselves. I'm only saying the religion they follow has really jaded morals. Many people have been killed in God's name, and homosexuality is still viewed as wrong by a lot of people. That comes from religion.
