Umm, he got the text about the phone, texted his friend back, then threw the phone at the window..

no, I mean why would the friend who's texting say, "did you just throw your phone at the window?" he should know the other friend, having just thrown his phone, wouldn't get that text. :)

He was making sure. And if his friend had a Nokia and didn't break the window somehow then his friend could have picked up the phone and texted back.
