Oh god this is so true, whenever I'm going to a competion my teammates and I will have hand stand completions at the airport. One time a flight attendant yelled at us and told us to sit back down.

It's all about balance. See how his legs are in a straddle and slightly tilted and his arm is stretched out in the other direction? Gymnastics is a lot of physics (and strength and coordination and flexibility and power and grace and basically everything).
