"This amendment to the Criminal Code of Canada makes it illegal to conceal one’s identity or wear a mask during an unlawful protest and carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison." Via CJFE.org
During an unlawful protest doesn't seem too unreasonable. If you are rioting and are wearing a mask to avoid cameras and such the police SHOULD be able to arrest you just on those grounds.
There is no good reason for this law. If you're doing something wrong you'll get arrested whether you have a mask or not. The only reason for this law is suppressing the people.
If anonymity on the internet has taught us anything, it's that people will do and say horrible things if no one knows who they are. So this law seems pretty fair to me ^^
I think that's terrible, I have seen what police do to peacful protesters already! Ten years is unfair! Maybe if you cause damage yes but like pumping your fist, shouting and raising a sign shouldn't be a huge thing? We are Anonymous, we are legion. We do not forgive, we do not forget. Together we stand divided by none! We are anon! I don't mind the dislikes, just the fact you won't listen and see it from a different perspective hurts:(
