Parenting well done

I understand that hes being very proactive as a father and thats a good thing, but I dont understand how public humiliation teaches a child they shouldnt lie. Its the same problem with the prison system here in America. Yes you have disciplined the person but you did nothing to correct the thinking that made the person do what they did. They are still the same person that did what they did, just angrier now.
