Yes, I think you're being cruel and now you're trying to avoid answering by suggesting I misunderstood your tone, and redirecting your attack onto me. I'm asking why. Will you answer?
Oh excuse me. It bothers me because I don't want to see his comment on every one of them. Seems he's begging for attention. Happy? Can I ask you if you've been out in the world? Because people are just a little more cruel then asking something like that.
I've seen enough of the world to think that cruelty is an attitude, and one that doesn't graduate to extremes except via small beginnings. Thank you for answering. I understand - your response to somebody wanting attention is to shut them down so that your leisure isn't inconvenienced. I doubt you'll care since I'm just some argumentative online nobody, but I'm suggesting that by stepping outside your comfort zone and engaging with a person like that, you might solve your problem and help theirs at the same time. Isn't that a better outcome?
Alrighty then. Because I asked a simple question I get tons of down votes, I'm antagonistic, and cruel. Asking a simple question will never be considered cruel. Now, if this was in real life and I had a certain tone, it might be just a little. But because this is the internet, you can't understand my tone. Therefore, you jumped to conclusions and thought I was cruel.
I take your point. Happy to discuss the way tone is embedded in choice of words. It's not an internet thing, it's part of all written communication. The way you'd phrase that as an earnest question is "Why do you post on so many..." ie, without the suggestion of excess that "Do you have to?" specifically signifies. That's why you chose that particular string of words - because you wanted to make the point that he does it too much.
Look, you were being an ass and you got called out for it. It happens. My point is that antagonising people only makes them feel oppressed, and if that's already part of what inspires them, you're only motivating them to continue the behaviour that you don't like. It's self-defeating. I'm trying to show you that your own goals are best met by helping others to meet theirs. It's called mutual self-interest and it's how, for example, commerce has allowed living standards to improve so dramatically over the last five hundred years. It's a good approach.
So now you're telling me why I chose the words I did and what my motive was? You don't and never will know my motives and reasons from a written text. Like I said before, you're pathetic. I don't even know what to say to this unbelievable stupidity! You're making all these guesses about my comments by fucking words!! I mean holy shit. You don't hear my voice or tone, you don't see my facial expressions, and you don't see my body posture to make these judgment calls. And I can guarentee if I said "do you have to?" you would come to his rescue, get on my back, and say something like don't try to control him, don't be so cruel, or that I could've phrased it different. C'mon man let's be honest here...
You have too many things to say. We know you're gay, you love gays, and you're vegan. Point proven. Now you can stop posting on all those pictures and completely ruining them.
It says nothing about him falling in love with another serviceman. People were dishonorably discharged from service for being gay. This affected future employment, too, by the way.
