Yes!!! I can't believe I found a Funsuber whos played or heard of Mother 3! I agree. I saw the ending before I played it and cried. I had to hide my face so no one would see I was crying. You're awesome Crash! :D
OMG! INTERNET HIGH FIVE!! I've been searching for such a god damn long time for someone who's even heard of the Mother/Earthbound series, AND NOW I HAVE!!! I too, watched the ending before playing the game, and I cried like a baby. I had to go to my room so my mom wouldn't ask me why I was crying (last time I cried over a video game it was when my favorite character died in Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, if you know about that game, and my mom made fun of me and said I was over emotional) I still can't make entire sense of the ending, I mean, wasn't the dragon supposed to save them? From the looks of it, the dragon just ended the world. And then they had to go and have Clause commit suicide right before that, that did not help.
I'm awesome? Well if I'm awesome then you must be awesome too, because it takes one to know one!!!
Btw, you ever played Mother 2/ Earthbound?
Thanks! ^w^ and yeah I've played Earthbound! Super Smash bros made my little sister develop a crush on Ness and I decided to check out which game Ness was from. I never finished tho. I know what happens but I still wanted to play it. I heard the dragon just kind of reset the world, but everyone survived. It might be true but it might not. And yeah, Itoi could really make someone cry especially with Claus doing that so young... Never heard of Tasmanian Tiger sorry but sounds sad :(
Super smash brothers is also what made me become interested in the series. To me there was just something eerie about Ness and Lucas, especially their game arenas, so that's what made me want to check it out, and I just fell in love with the series after reading about it a bit, managed to dig up a copy of earthbound, and was then scared shitless by the monstrosity that was Giygas. Still haven't exactly finished Earthbound because of Giygas. I've heard many many speculations about Mother 3, but none confirmed. It makes it worse that Itoi refuses to make a mother 4 (apparently making the games brought back a lot of traumatizing childhood memories or something like that) mother 3.... One of the few games to get away with a child suicide along with an E for everyone rating.....
Now that I really think about it, Ty was a really sad game series. The first two games, not so much, but the third one was really sad. Through out the trilogy there are two main enemies, a Kassowary bird and
An female anthro thorny devil. In the third game the thorny devil, named Fluffy, starts to realize the terrible things they'd done, and tries to redeem her self throughout the game. In the very end, the main villain gets his chance to kill Ty once and for all, but Fluffy shoves Ty out of the way and takes the blow instead. That was the last scene of the whole game. Actually, last scene of the whole series. There hasn't been an addition to the series since 2005
I know right?! The mother series was so interesting I had to read about and I saved some fanart to my ipods camera roll. This series just gets you hooked and Giygas scares the Aflack out of everyone! Like what is he?! I know about him from the game before Earthbound, but he's so... *shiver* It's sad that Itoi will never make another crazy game like his other 3 :( that summary about Ty sounds sad. I'll have to research it. Your awesome Crash!
The mother series is not given nearly enough credit. Each game is fun and unique, not to mention their quirky sense of humor and endless supply of The Beetles references (the yellow submarine one killed me) Giygas is the embodiment of nightmares and all things scary (I say that because I already know of another character from outside of the series who actually scared me more at the time, and is actually supposed to be the embodiment of evil) I don't understand how that could have happened to that creature who looked like MewTwo (I have this head canon that MewTwo was based off of the mother 1 design for Giygas) The Ty series is really unpopular, I fail to see why though. The graphics were outstanding for a game of it's time, heck, they even had a full coral reeth in one level, and you didn't even have to go to that part of the level! That and they're fun, and have some well devolved characters. I recommend at least giving it a look. Thank you, you are awesome too!
I'll check it out! ^w^ Giygas does look like MewTwo in the first game. The coral reef level sounds cool! I wish the Mother series had a bigger impact in the states... Thanks, and you are defitnely awesome! ^W0
It is, I wish I had more time to investigate it though with out being eaten by a bloody shark.... (After all these years, animated sharks still scare the living day lights out of me) I wish that company was appreciated more.... They were such detailed games, they had amazing graphics for the Xbox/Ps2/GameCube and a minimal amount of glitching. Yet the company is broke to the point where they could only afford to make an IPhone app in the place of a fourth game. In the off chance you can get a hold of one, I would say the second one is the best. It was the first I played, and they summarize the first game right at the beginning so it isn't too confusing. The third one is really sad and frustrating. The first is insanely frustrating because these games are rather hard, and the first game, instead of unlimited lives, have you three and made you start over when those were out. Not. Fair.
Yah... If Mother had impacted the states more then it would probably also be more popular here
Yes, they had so much potential too.... Activision once tried buying Ty the Tasmanian Tiger from them, but the company wouldn't let them, I'm assuming it's because they probably didn't like what they did to Crash Bandicoot, but in the end it's cost them a lot, still, I'm happy that they're still trying after all these years.
Well, we should just try to be happy the the mother/Earthbound series resulted in an incredibly devoted fan base and people who will never forget the incredibleness of that series. I'm proud to be an Earthboundian, and I pray that some day Itoi will realize how much we want a Mother 4, and make it, or at least remake the other games for the 3DS. We can only hope
It's nice to know they didn't give up :'). Yup, I do love the Mother series and I am a fan of it, but I'm mostly a fan of the Zelda series. The fan base is awesome and yep this is a series you can never forget. I do want a remake.
Yep, those people sure are determined to have a sucessful game company no matter what it takes. Heck, this company was so devoted to their games, that they actually had a character say in the second game how to beat the final boss in the third game.
I too, am a huge legend of Zelda fan, I even have an actual Ocarina of Time, but for me the mother series is a close second, I would have like it more if it wasn't for all the training and leveling up you have to do. I'd be especially happy if they remake the first game and rerelease it in English this time, that would be great.
Cool! I love how they hinted that in the second game. I can't believe I met a Zelda AND Mother fan! I'm so jealous of you and my sister who also has a real ocarina! I literally researched about this game slot until I was chock full of Zelda info. I really want A Link Between Worlds! Pokemon and the Mother series are awesome but you're right. The training and leveling! If they remade the game in english I would want to get it.
Yep, and they even did it through the insane character who you find every now and then in the game. All times but once he will just tell a random story, but one time when you find him he tells you how to defeat the final boss of the third game, replacing the name of the boss with "them" and they don't directly tell you how to beat the boss in the third game. Talk about attention to detail.
Well seems today was a good day for both of us then! :) I also have the Hyrule Historian, and a little stuffed Link. The thing that for the longest time stopped me from playing Earthbound was the thought that I'd have to train so I wouldn't be beaten by minor enemies. That and when I finally got to Giygas I really didn't see that coming.
They better at least release all three of the games on the 3DS store.... They'd make a ton of money off of the fans then
lol Attention to detail. I'll have to do that more often. It was a good day! I have a stuffed Link but I'm also jealous of your Hyrule Historia! I didn't train in Earthbound or Mother 3 because (hehe) I used cheat codes... Itoi would make alot of money indeed. :3
Yah I get told to do that a lot in my art for some reason. The Hyrule Historian is so cool!!!! My mom just brought it home for me one day as a surprise because she thought I'd like it because it had legend of Zelda on it. Well she was right. CHEAT CODES?!?! WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THAT?!?!?!?!?!
Actually it's probably best I don't use cheat codes on my Earthbound, the cartridge is pretty old now, so is the system, I don't want to risk doing anything that would cause it to overly glitch and break..... Apparently when Itoi rereleased Earthbound on the WiiU virtual console, sales for the WiiU shot right up.
lol true sketch! You draw too?! I love drawing! I only use cheat codes because I play on my iPod (it's jailbroken) so the emulators have cheat code systems. Yeah, it's nice to preserve the game and keep it safe. I defitnely want a wii U to play the WW remake and the Earthbound remake. :3
I sure do! At the moment I mostly just draw characters from Fire Emblem, yet still, my parents seem to think it's their job to critique every little thing I draw. Yah I can't get emulators on my IPhone or IPad. The only way I was able to play Mother three was when my computer still worked. But the emulator kind of messed up my computer. I had to watch play throughs of the rest of the game, still loved it though. I've lost a couple games to bad cheat codes, so it's made me paranoid to use them on any thing
Cool! You sound good at drawing! I really want to be a cartoonist when I grow older so I kinda make my own characters. I'm scared about using cheat codes too because of Pokemon Emerald and the side effect was two words: BAD EGG.
Thanks. Me too, but my art teacher says there's no money in that, and my parents agree....
Oh yes, I remember bad egg, that happened to my Pokemon Diamond.
Yep.... Still not as bad as the time my little cousin erased my pokemon white file, which contained all my Pokemon from my GBA games I had when I was younger....
Yah, I can now see why my older cousins would get so mad at me for deleting their save files on games. I even had my first Pokemon, a Sceptile, on there. I'd had all those Pokemon for a good ten years. All gone now. Doubt I'm ever got to get over it
I couldn't even get mad at the little brat. He just hid behind his mom, smirking at me while she yelled at me about how he's only in third grade and doesn't know any better. That little brat knew exactly what he was doing...
Yup.... They do something wrong, then we get in trouble for being mad at them because we're older than them.... Happens to me all the time.... I know this sounds stupid, but at my elementary school I was bullied by kids half my age because I wasn't allowed to do anything about it. They'd hit me and everything and I wasn't allowed to say anything. I tried once and a teacher didn't care because they were younger than me
D: that's so sad! That teacher didn't do anything?! That teacher is a jerk then. Just because someone is younger it doesn't mean they can hit who they like.
The teacher did nothing. I had no friends my own age (excluding my twin sister) so no one else would help me either (I would have asked my sister, but I didn't want her to get involved in that) so every day at recess I would be hit and have things thrown at me by kids half my age and no one would do anything. And one day when I finally snapped and yelled at them, I got detention for a week for "bullying little kids". That school had no sense of justice
Man. Crash, I'm sorry you had to go through that. That school is terrible for not helping you out of a situation like that! Jerks... You have a twin?! That's so cool! And hey sketch! I'm jealous you can draw anime! I can only draw cartoony ( as my profile pic shows, though I've improved) and I suck at realistic and anime. I guess thats why your username is sketch!
Oh yes, we are huge fans of the series to the point where we can name some of the voice actors (one of them was even in ghost busters) but we aren't very fond of the newer ones. We hate those ones to be exact.
You bet we are! I feel your pain about the sonic games.... It all went down hill, starting with sonic 2006.... But the thing that really bugs me about the new crash games is that they got rid of my favourite character. I can't get over them doing that.
Finally! Someone besides my sister doesn't like the sonic series because of the newer games. I would hate it if they took my favorite character from a series out. :(
Yah.... My sister likes the newer ones EXCEPT for sonic 2006 and Sonic Unleased, but I absolutely hate any sonic game after Sonic heroes. It just stopped being fun and started being chocked full of 'been-done-before-and-better' cliches. Now, you may not understand this but I'm going to say it anyways, there is something that I actually find amusing about the newer crash games. In Crash Twinsanity, or as I like to call it, the last good Crash Bandicoot game, they introduce a character as the main villains niece. They never talk about her parents though. The thing is, she looked strangely like the main villains rival, I don't mean Crash, but there was another villain who had similar goals as the main villain, but I'm not going to go so much into that. Anyways, this rival, like most humans in the game, had a rather strange skin color, he was blue to be exact. In the newer Crash games he's no longer around (which makes me mad) but this niece now has bright blue skin like he had
Thanks, strangely enough this one isn't spoken about much amongst the Crash Bandicoot fandom. My theory is that the main villain by the start of Crash of the Titans (the first of the newer, sucky, Crash Bandicoot games) realized that his niece's father was his rival, and it is implied in one of the past games that his family is dead excluding that one niece, and I'm guessing he had a sister who died in child birth. Being as the rival would have been indirectly responsible for the death of his sister, the main villain killed him and all the other villains just pretended that he never existed. I'd probably like that theory more if I actually liked the new crash games, but they have way too many pop culture references for my liking. I'd kill to see one original, unused idea, in a current Sonic game.
I'm awesome? Well if I'm awesome then you must be awesome too, because it takes one to know one!!!
