Why can't everyone see this? My dad, (who is a Baptist pastor) has told me that he thinks gays and lesbians should have the right to get married, because they are people, and should have the same rights as everyone else. He went on to say that if Christians were doing what God told them to do, spreading Gods word and such, it wouldn't be as big of a problem. If my dad, who has been in the ministries for over twenty years, can see this, why is it so hard for anyone else? He doesn't agree with lgbt rights, but he knows they deserve to be treated equally.
Amen to this kid. Who cares about someone else's sexuality. You couldn't tell what my sexuality if right now. Or songofthewhitestag he is gay, did anybody else know that? I didn't
I've been doing this for the past year, and my French teacher keeps getting frustrated when I don't stand. Why do we have to pledge our allegiance to a piece of fabric, anyway? I'm sitting out until EVERYONE in this country, and I mean EVERY SINGLE PERSON, has exactly equal rights.
I always was told it's because in England, the king was forcing people into his religion, and outlawing everyone else's. A lot of people were arrested and/or killed for practicing in secret. So, a lot people left for freedom of religion. It's also included in our constitution, the first amendment, so no one can take away our religious rights again. I'm not sure if that's correct, but it's what I've always been taught.
It was added in Eisenhower's tenure as president and is constitutional because "God" in the pledge and on the currency represents "an all-powerful being" not any specific religion's god
Cherokee, that's your personal belief. Jews and Muslims and atheists and etc. don't share that belief. The Constitution says "separation of church and state", which is why public schools can't say prayers aloud. There are obviously a lot of errors in the PoA, so I have written a more accurate revision:
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America
And to the deteriorating republic for which it once stood, one nation, under its insatiable government, with liberty and justice for all who are rich, white, and heterosexual."
What do you guys think?
You morons, God refers to whatever diety or creator you believe in. God, Yaweh, Allah, the Great Spirit , Buddha etc. . The. "Seperation clause" as someorons like to call it, in the first amendment, actually means that the government cannot establish a national religion, ie the Anglican Church in colonial virginia. It does not mean that it is fucking illegal to say God!
