I want to have a pinãta, a disco ball and funky music at mine because I don't want my funeral guests to be crying over me. I want them to celebrate my life by eating candy and dancing as lamely as possible.
That's why you should just say "Thank you" if someone calls you pretty, even if you don't feel pretty. Even of you aren't fishing for compliments, it sounds like it.
