That's what I did when a student was crying or being yelled at at school. I just looked away and pretend I wasn't paying attention because I've been in that situation before and I hate it when people stare at me.

Also, don't complain about kids in general well after the situation is over. We get it, you don't like kids...

If the kid is screaming it usually means the parent is not letting them do something they want to do, so if you want to shame those parents into giving the child what they want, be my guest. Just remember that spoiling makes horrible human beings.
