Retarded- (adj)- less advanced in mental, physical, or social development than is usual for one's age.
I believe your perception of him is a bit off. He is one of the quickest witted anti-heroes- hell, heroes!- of the age of comics. The things he does may not make complete sense to us, but that is because he is so much more bacon than necktie. I believe everything he does makes complete and total sense to him.
yes he is quick witted I'll give him that but if you go by the use of the word "retarded" by most of today's youth then yes he is kinda retarded but i think that some of his hi jinks and what not are kinda "retarded". He also hears voices in his head......and if you ask me i think he is not the only one in the world that does.....even the sane people.
That is the 'normal use' of the word. This is the verb form(which seems to be the more antiquated): to delay or hold back in terms of progress, development, or accomplishment. I don't think he's been held back in accomplishment. Or development. Or progress. Can you review your post and repost it in a more....legible...form? Please....think of the children.
If I am understanding what you have to say here, I think you are wrong. He has a slight DID, yes. I cannot blame him for his antics, though; I mean, if you were effectively immortal, wouldn't you do whatever the hell came to mind? I sure would, especially if I had the money to.
There was an arc in the late nineties that had all of his personalities...at the time, five...I think....as other people outside of his body. Then again, recently, he had a one shot that put him together with another hero...not sure who it was, need to actually read that one. Mind and body, these two were one.
I agree that he is not literally "retarded" and if I was basically immortal i probably do some stupid shit myself; But Deadpool is by far the most... simple minded, i guess would be the correct terminology for the situation at hand, hero/villain or whatever he is of the "super human" world. While i do give him credit for his ability to think outside the box and keep his head together in times of panic he also can create the times of which i speak, and if I am not mistaken he also has quite a short attention span. Now i really do not wish to continue this debate on the likes of a fictitious character so how about we agree to have our own personal opinions and we will both go on our own merry way. I appreciate the fact that you tried to make me see your opinion of him but i am still steadfast in my own opinion. Good day to you sir/madam.
Gonna go with sir, here. He is not simple minded, he is so far bacon(in the orange and blue morality spectrum) that we cannot comprehend the entirety of his actions. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BlueAndOrangeMorality
I find this debate intriguing and see no reason to let it die.
But sir I have no reason to let this pointless debate for that is what it is for me, pointless, so I do believe shall motion that we as human beings agree to disagree on our points of view on our dear friend Deadpool
Sir I have not been one over for I still hold true to my ideals of Deadpool. It is just the matter of I just wish to no longer hold this debate for I am still headstrong on my feelings toward him; but yes I also find this debate intriguing but I do wish for it to die so we shall move on with our lives and not waste such precious time on frivolous debates. Now i do believe that others shall read these comments and try to start the debate up again if that does occur I may come back with them and once again have to reiterate my feelings toward him. So good day to you sir.

While he may make a fool of himself, he is in no way retarded.
