It costs money to move, to uproot yourself and abandon what friends and family you may have had. It costs money to move furniture, or even to try to sell it all off. It costs money to buy a new place to live, and you aren't always likely to find an affordable place. And even if you are employed, you may still not have enough to live, given the price of rent, food, and healthcare in areas. Especially if you are disabled or simply unable to work in hard labor jobs, or if these jobs are simply not paying what your 17 year old friend was able to swing, you end up stuck at the bottom.

The unemployment rate is at 3.9% and its been dropping. There are 6.3 million unemployed people. Poverty rates have not been dropping proportionally to the employment rate, and have been dropping very little altogether. I'd argue that not every town in the US has jobs, and given that one's degree, if one is able to shell out the money to get one, is only good for certain fields of work, your chances of getting a job that pays well is even lower.

It might have been like that at some point. And with the US's tight borders and strong military, it's certainly preferrable to be here if you are fleeing war, gangs, or your country's government. But wages are stagnant, the housing market is expensive, and it's hard to get any upwards mobility, especially if one is working minimum wage. Its not impossible, but the American dream for the majority of impoverished is nothing but a dream.

GDP doesn't necessarily matter, or at least for the majority of people. The US has a poverty rate of 13.5%, which accounts for 43.1 million people. This is unacceptable. A country with such a high GDP, with corporations with values approaching trillions, with one of the most expensive militaries in the world, shouldn't be having this problem.

I'd argue that the west is not as secular as you might think it is, though it's mostly on America's end, where Christianity ends up influencing politics in ways that it really shouldn't.

That's racism. Those people are racists, though not quite as extreme as others may be.

Moreover, no matter how many "presentable" black people we put out into the world, even when there are no "thugs" left in the world, you cannot change the racist's point of view. They are not racist because they have a valid reason, but because they have an unreasonable bias against that race, and only use bad stereotypes to enforce and rationalize this bias. The KKK did not discriminate between the poor and wealthy blacks when they lynched them and went unpunished for it. Jim Crow did not discriminate between the productive and nonproductive members of society. It does not matter who you are as a black person to a racist, because they already don't see you as a person.

Though, humans don't release as much as the burning of hydrocarbons does. It wouldn't be a fog as much as it would be a mist.

They've got a lot of nerve endings and they're kinda rugged and considered "dirty". It's just another body part that can be put to creative use.

We could reintroduce wolves into their environments, but trying to get people to agree to that would be.... Difficult.
