My mother was a radiologist, has saved many lives at the hospital she worked at. One of the most memorable was a person walking with what seemed like a friend of his supporting him, clearly in exponential pain, the person saying he needed help immediately. He got into the worse side of a T-bone car crash, and her job was to scan him to see where they needed to operate, replace or remove. It was a miracle he was alive, a majority of his ribs were badly broken (one of them almost powderized it was broken so bad), lots of internal bleeding, and 2 ribs punctured a lung. His skull was cracked, and his stomach had 2 or 3 lacerations. If he came a few minutes later, he would've died. Miraculously, he survived and had to be kept for half a year. He was immensely grateful for everybody at the hospital, and the person who got him there (who turned out to be the cause of the accident).

Moral of the story: Don't make friends unless you like murdering butterflies.
