So after thinking about this for a while it hit me: what if it was a bet, and they didn't mean that you would save that much...

Yea, sure... but let's see:
The average cell phone bill per month is $71 so $71 x 3 months = @213.
But let's go with the 13% who pay $200 a month, so $600.
Facebook is free, but supposedly people spend about 8 hours a day on the computer, so if they got a job in that time and made an impressive $30 bucks an hour they would make $30 x 8 hours x 90 days = $21600.
You already got a job and have no internet, so you wouldn't be wasting time on the computer. We'll assume that in said job you never use the computer.
Now for the internet costs. Verizon FiOS at 75/75 mbps costs $135 a month, including television. Give them some time and they will jack that price up, so now it costs $200 a month, because Verizon does that. This now costs you another $600 for three months. You also rented a router, so add another $30.
This all adds up to $22,830, or .7% of 3 million. You wouldn't make 3 million if you worked 24 hours a day for three months at $100 an hour.

My math teacher lived his whole life in a wheelchair, and could beat anyone in the school in any competition for upper body strength. I guess when you move yourself around with your arms instead of your legs you get kinda strong...

I think we can learn a valuable comment from Calvin and Hobbes here on how that would work out: http://www.gocomics.com/calvinandhobbes/1990/01/09#.U44Ou_nxpS4
