Especially the negative stereotypes, those are more often than not over exaggerated and often untrue, they're mostly harmful.

Well stereotypes can be funny and tend to be as long as people understand they are often vast exaggerations of one or a few true events or flat out untrue memes. Stereotypes should never be held as truth and some are just plain offensive but they don't have to be. I mean black people have a stereo type that they're physically superior to most other people in a lot of aspects (larger sexual organs, stronger and taller bodies, more endurance) and in many cases it's true, look at pro athletes or track runners, some of the most unbeatable and most terrifying performers are black. Same with Asians, they're stereotyped to be hyper intelligent and for the most part they seem to be and that's awesome, stereotypes don't have to be racist and don't always apply to race or aren't always negative. If you use them properly you can make great jokes or stories as long as everyone understands that yes the stereotype can be true but it's not always true and doesn't always apply.
